Founded in 1967, Sin Hup Bamboo Chicks & Blinds is the longest established Bamboo Chick Manufacturer in Singapore. A humble set up more than 50 years ago, in a kampong village around Kim Seng Road. Raw bamboo is self-harvested, and the bamboo blinds are tailored to the customer’s preference.
Business quickly grown through Mr TK Ong’s hard work and quality of his blinds. Words start to spread, and more and more customers trusted his Bamboo Blinds. Expansion was quick! Sin Hup Bamboo Chicks & Blinds moved into the shophouse in the late 1970s. We acquired machinery, increased manpower to enhance the quality of our products.
Soon Sin Hup Seng Bamboo Chicks & Blinds is a recognised brand, and the go-to brand for Bamboo Chicks & Blinds in Singapore. We have garnered media coverage, and we were featured on Straits Times in 1986 for his Bamboo Chicks. This is also the era where machine-made blinds are coming into fashion in Singapore.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Sin Hup Seng Bamboo Chicks & Blinds created chicks and blinds that were catered to meet customers' needs and market demand. We have since provided a wider range of window furnishings; bamboo chicks, curtains and blinds. Nonetheless, Mr Ong has a soft spot for Bamboo Chicks. He has created unique bamboo rope and locking mechanism that is still unique till today.
